So How Was It?
If you missed our Vacation Bible School (VBS), thankfully we will have one again next year. We had so much fun! We had so many moving parts, and it really showed tribute to our teams that volunteered to make sure everything went smoothly! Our registrations started promptly and the seats filled up with excited and curious faces - young and old.
We began our afternoons with an assembly, hosted by our very own Bonnie DuRant, to bring our focus in towards a servers heart. Not only promoting the good that is bringing service to others, but also being aware that we are living out our faith for others to see. There were two causes being donated to during the week, The Ronald McDonald Fund, and a children's fund. There were handmade blankets being crafted throughout the week, as well as coin donations made by our young attendees. This year the children were able to donate $159.02 to go towards a children's fund- in addition to providing them with school supplies.
Our assembly was then finished off with some praise singing and dancing - that was a great lead into our recreation games! The kids were separated into appropriate age groups and all given games that helped them grasp the goals that God has for them. It was also a really good way to bring fellowship among the kids themselves and see what it feels like to be around other supportive friends, who also have their focus on Christ. By the end of the night, everyone would wind down in their respective classrooms for missions focus and studying of the word and snacks.
VBS is so much more than just a "camp" to sit kids down a talk to them about the Bible. We go to great efforts to show them how Christ works in us, and through us, with the various activities that are held. There are so many chances that we as believers have to show others the plans Christ has for us. It is really good to see that VBS is so good at doing so, because of our many activities and volunteers. We hope to see you again at VBS - and church on Sunday!

This Saturday, Aug 18th our Colesville kicked off Vacation Bible School(VBS) with a church block party! We were blessed to have a nice sunny day out to enjoy with a lot of friends and family - including the little ones! Our church teams did great setting up and taking down - even when the heat was beginning to hit them hard. Nonetheless, we had a nice crowd come and enjoy John Strohecker's burgers and hot dogs. We saw some new faces, and were really excited to include them in our festivities! There was much fun to be had between ball games, connect four, bubbles and GAGA! The party set off a great tone for our up-coming week of VBS! GO LIONS, ROAR!! Wanna see more pictures? Check out our new gallery!
